Emily - Assistant

Hi there!  I’m Emily. This will be my sixth summer at the zoo after being in the ZooCorps program throughout high school. I'm on summer break from Whitworth in Spokane where I study biology and chemistry. When I’m not hanging out at the zoo, I love to swim, watch hockey and go tidepooling.  One of my favorite places is Glacier National Park where I once saw my favorite animal: the mountain goat! I’m looking forward to a great summer at the zoo!

Nicole - Instructor

Hello! My name is Nicole. I’ve been a Zoo Ambassador volunteer for Woodland Park Zoo for a few years and am really excited to be involved with Zoo U for the first time this summer! I grew up in the Seattle area and love exploring the nature around our city. I love to hike, ski, and go camping! I have a biology degree and a Masters in Teaching degree from University of Washington. Woodland Park Zoo happens to have my all-time favorite animal, the ocelot.

Ryan - Instructor

Greetings all! My name is Ryan, and I am a Minnesota transplant who studied Ecology, Evolution, and Animal Behavior.  I have been a science teacher, a field researcher in Bolivia and Australia, and even worked at an aquarium in the basement of the Mall of America!  I LOVE learning about new animals and ecosystems, and I am pumped to learn more this summer at the zoo!  When I'm not geeking out about Australian mammals, you can find me running around the city or reading science fiction!

Hi my name is Teresa. I am from Seattle and currently attend the University  of Washington. Squirrels and tapirs are my favorite animals. I was a ZooCorps Volunteer as well as ZooCorps Intern while in high school. I have always loved spending time outside and being active. At UW, I am a part of running club and triathlon club.  I am also a huge fan of bad jokes and other silliness. I look forward to many fun camp days at the zoo!
