Where Dinosaurs Come to Life

Closed for the Season

Open May 1 - September 6, 2021

Travel back to a time when prehistoric giants roamed the Earth. Experience the wonder of more than 20 life-sized dinosaurs in a completely immersive exhibit! Walk alongside the mighty T. Rex, stretch like the tall brachiosaurus and learn more about all of your favorite prehistoric creatures at Dinosaur Discovery!

And who knows... you might find out that some of your zoo favorites share some very prehistoric relatives! Emus... meet theropods!

Woodland Park Zoo presents the world's largest and most life-like dinosaurs. Come meet dozens of spectacular roaring, breathing giants, and get up close to the tallest dinosaurs ever at 35 feet high! See a 40-foot-long T. rex face off against Triceratops. Meet mothers and their babies, head-butting giants and so much more.

The exhibition is created by Dino Don Inc., the world's leading supplier of robotic dinosaurs to zoos and museums worldwide - and the only maker of full-sized dinosaurs. The hand-made animatronics are uniquely created under direct scientific supervision.

Do I need to wear a face covering/mask? Can I visit without one?

Woodland Park Zoo is a science-based organization and will require face coverings be worn by staff and guests aged 5 years and older for the health and safety of all humans and animals at the zoo. All guests over the age of 5 are required to wear a face covering at entry and during the duration of their visit. Face covering must be worn over the mouth and nostrils. Face covers that include mesh, lace or exhaust valves are not acceptable. We highly encourage and recommend guests ages 3 - 5 to wear a face covering during their visit. Guests ages 0 - 2 should not wear a face covering according to public health recommendations. For guests in need of a face covering, a limited number may be available at the gate subject to availability. To assist guests who who are unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons or who rely on facial expressions, lip reading or are hindered in communicating with facial coverings, clear plastic face shields will be made available at entry. Staff in Guest Services (front entrance) and Security will also have access to clear face masks/plexi covers to facilitate communication.
