How to Claim Your Free Transit Credits

  1. Download the Transit GO Ticket App
If you haven’t already, download the Transit GO Ticket app from your app store (available on iOS and Android). This app will allow you to manage your credits, purchase transit tickets, and redeem your 600 points in free transit credits.
  2. Purchase Your Woodland Park Zoo Daily Admission Tickets
Before you can claim the credits, you must purchase your daily admission ticket at zoo.org/visit at least 24 hours in advance of your visit. This offer does not apply to event ticket buyers.
  3. Access the Promo Code
After purchasing your tickets, you will receive a pre-visit email from Woodland Park Zoo. This email will include a promo code to access the promotion in the Transit GO Ticket app.
  4. Claim Your Transit Credit
Open the Transit GO Ticket app and go to the Rewards section. Under More, select Rewards Code, then tap + Add New Code. Enter the code provided in your pre-visit email, and your account will be credited with 600 points in transit credits.
  5. Redeem Your Credit
When you’re ready to travel, open the app and select your transit service. Tap redeem in the app, and your transit ticket will appear in the “Use” section. Activate your ticket right before you board your transit, whether you’re heading to the zoo or on your way home.
  6. Enjoy Your Trip!
The credits cover a round trip on eligible King County Metro buses or Link light rail. You can use them for any trip that starts or ends at Woodland Park Zoo or anywhere on the transit route.

What’s the Deal?

While supplies last, all General Admission ticket buyers (18+)—including CAP and Discover Ticket holders, and discounted tickets—can receive 600 points in free transit credit, enough to cover a roundtrip fare on public transportation. Download the Transit GO Ticket app, redeem your credit from the promo code in your pre-visit email, and ride transit to your day of animal-filled fun.

Kids Ride Free, Always!

Did you know that all youth ages 18 and under can ride transit for free throughout Washington State?

Thanks to the Move Ahead Washington transportation funding package, young riders can travel at no cost on King County Metro buses, Link light rail, and other participating transit services!

Kids and teens ride free on all public transit throughout Washington State, so this is a great option for families looking to make a day of it—without the parking fees or traffic headaches.

How it Works

  • Youth 18 and under can board King County Metro buses, Link light rail, and other eligible transit services without paying a fare.
  • Youth ORCA Cards are encouraged for riders 13 and older. If you have one, simply tap it when boarding. If not, don’t worry—youth can still ride for free, just hop on board!
  • Student IDs: High school and middle school students can also show their school-issued ID when boarding or when requested by a transit official.
  • No ORCA Card? No Problem! If you don’t have a Youth ORCA card or Student ID, you can still ride for free! Just get on board!

Riding transit is simple and easy. Plan your trip, tap your ORCA card (if you have one), and be ready for your stop. And remember, youth riding the Link light rail or buses don’t need a card for free rides (except for the Monorail, which requires a Youth ORCA card).

Want to get a free Youth ORCA card? You can easily order one here. Just make sure to order in advance, as it can take up to 2 weeks for delivery.
