We strongly recommend for you to purchase your tickets online in advance of your visit. Once inside the zoo, you are welcome to enjoy your visit and exit prior to the zoo’s closing time or designated reserved accessibility hours.
Timed Entry Tickets
Timed ticket holders must enter at the West Gate located at 5500 Phinney Ave. N.
To limit the number of guests inside the zoo at any given time, visitors will purchase tickets with a specific entrance time. Tickets will be available 30 days in advance. Guests and members should avoid arriving earlier than 5 minutes prior to their entry time. If you arrive early, please wait inside your vehicle if possible.

Please note, on-site ticket purchases may require an extended wait.
A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase in person at the zoo. Visitors who do not purchase tickets online may buy them at the zoo for the next available entrance time or a future date if tickets are sold out.

Note to Visitors
Exhibit Work
The Northern Trail exhibit will be closed to begin construction on exhibit improvements. The closure will be completed in phases to minimize the impact to the visitor experience.
Phase 1: January 27 - February 13, 2021
Partial Exhibit Closure
The visitor pathway starting at the Taiga Viewing Shelter to elk viewing will be closed. Elk viewing, Steller’s sea eagles and indoor viewing of river otters and brown bears will be closed.
Phase 3: March 1 – 31, 2021
Full Exhibit Closure
Full closure of the Northern Trail exhibit.
Phase 2: February 17 - 27, 2021
Partial Exhibit Closure
The visitor pathway starting at the Tundra building to elk viewing will be closed. Elk viewing, Steller’s sea eagles, river otters and indoor viewing of brown bears will be closed.
Phase 4: April 1 – 17, 2021
Partial or Full Exhibit Closure

Parking fees do not apply for any vehicle displaying a valid disabled parking placard, in any WPZ parking space.

We’re looking out for everyone’s health and safety, people and animals alike!
Here are some changes to keep in mind when planning your next visit:
- Timed ticket entry for social distancing
- Facial coverings required for all guests (ages 5+) and staff
- Entry only through West Entrance. South Entrance closed for entry.
- All main exits open

- Outdoor dining and grab-and-go options are available
- Cashless food service payments starting December 1, 2020
- ZooStore limited to <25% capacity
- One-way path to outdoor exhibits

WHAT'S OPEN
Enjoy an outdoor experience and spend quality time with your favorite animals and people once again. Most exhibits are open, and there are still dining and shopping experiences to enjoy and available restrooms for your convenience.
Please note some areas of the zoo are closed for safety, including indoor buildings and high-touch areas.
