Amanda S. - Instructor

Hi! I’m Amanda, and I am thrilled to join the Woodland Park Zoo this summer! I have a degree in Communication, I taught English in Africa in the Peace Corps, worked in Entertainment at Walt Disney World for over 5 years, was a VIP Guide at Universal Orlando for over 2 years, and currently work with special education students. I’ve also taught drama camps, and volunteer for a wildlife outreach organization. My favorite animals are tigers and bats!

Andrew - Instructor

Hey there! My name is Andrew, and I am very excited to be joining WPZ and being a part of their partnership with SCT. Over the course of 10 years, I have been a teaching artist at a variety of organizations around the country including Missoula Children's Theatre, Opening Act, and Spotlight Youth Theatre. Recently, I graduated with my Masters in Educational Theatre from NYU. My absolute favorite animal is the snow leopard (THEY’RE SO FLUFFY I COULD DIE!), and cannot wait to spend entire days at the zoo with eager young explorers (THAT’S YOU!).

Brennan - Assistant

Hello, my name is Brennan. At age six I first started attending the day camp program at the zoo and have been involved every summer since. I have always been fascinated with the Northern Trail because unlike other parts of the zoo it provides examples of interesting wild life that live very close to our own back yards. For me a party might be fun, but nothing beats a good book. I am looking forward to this wonderful new opportunity as a DDC Assistant.

Camp Staff

Brianna - Assitant

Hey everyone! My name is Brianna and I'm so excited to be joining DDC for another summer! Throughout high school I volunteered at the zoo through a program called ZooCorps and then was an intern. As an intern, I spent lots of time in Zoomazium and also worked closely with turtles and lots of cool bugs! I am currently a student at Western Washington University, studying Business and Environmental Science.  I love being outside, acting, and learning new things!

Camp staff

Josiah - Assistant

Hi all! My name is Josiah and I am a native of Seattle currently studying Theatre and Economics at the University of California--San Diego. Previously I worked at a Kids Adventure Camp for five years in North Seattle, blending drama and camp counseling for kids ages 4-12 and absolutely loved it. I like to act, hike, watch sunsets, and run. Games, adventure, and animals, here we come!

Camp staff

Kaitlyn- Instructor

Hi there! My name is Kaitlyn and after spending time in Washington, DC, Minnesota, and London, I am ecstatic to return to Seattle and join the WPZ team. This will be my first summer working at the zoo and I am beyond excited to share my love of learning new things, the performing arts, and visiting the zoo with campers. My favorite animal is a panda, if you’re in my group ask me about seeing baby panda Bao Bao in DC.

Camp Staff

Lauren - Instructor

I'm Lauren and I'm thrilled to be joining DDC again this summer. I'm an Indiana native with a degree in Theatre Education. I love playing theatre games, sharing animal facts, and being creative! Most of my experience is with public schools, but I've been lucky enough to work for some exciting camps the past three years. And currently my favorite animal is the blue whale!

Camp staff

Sierra - Assistant

Hi there, I’m Sierra! This will be my first year with DDC and I am so thrilled! I am a junior studying Environmental Science and Wildlife Conservation at UW. I love to study animals and research how we can conserve their natural habitat. I have enjoyed sharing my passion for all aspects of the environment by teaching about gardening, wildlife biology, and food science through garden education and tutoring programs across Washington State. I cannot wait to explore, learn, and grow with this year’s Discoveries Day Camp campers!

Camp Staff

Britt - DDC Lead Coordinator

Hi! My name is Britt and I'm so excited to be back for my ninth summer as a Little Cheese! I'm a native Seattle girl and spent lots of time exploring the zoo when I was camper-sized. As a grown-up, I graduated from UW and now I'm on faculty at Seattle Children's Theatre! Most of the year, I tour the country performing in lots of different shows. When you see me, ask me why I think the slow loris is the coolest animal on the planet!
