HOMESCHOOL GROUPS

Self-Guided Visits

Homeschool groups are welcome to come to the zoo for self-guided field trips any time of the year.  By registering three weeks in advance, homeschools can qualify for the reduced admission school rate.

Homeschool Days

Each fall Woodland Park Zoo offers Homeschool Days opportunities.  Homeschool students and parents are invited to the zoo for a day of hands-on workshops and activities. There are self-directed discovery stations, structured learning opportunities for various ages, and self-guided exploration of zoo grounds.

2014 Homeschool Days: Seasonal Survival

Wednesday, September 24th; Monday, October 6th; Wednesday, October 29th

Join us for a day at Woodland Park Zoo exploring the super cool ways animals around the world survive the winter.  Through the lens of geography and with a focus on adaptations, come explore and build on your students' natural curiosity about animals.

Specific programs offered for Homeschool Days are listed here; each day has the same schedule so please register for only one date to attend. Registration is free and entitles you to a discounted entry fee of $6.50 per person at the gate if you bring your registration confirmation. Zoo members are welcome to participate in this free event but we do ask that you register in advance.
There are also many activities that happen daily at the zoo. To see those, visit Daily Activities. Before you attend, please take a moment to plan your time at the zoo as some programs happen simultaneously.
