The latest news and updates about membership at Woodland Park Zoo
Posted by Steve Sullivan, Associate Director of Membership
8.7.15 Discovery Passport and Wild at Heart members, mark your calendars! Take advantage of your exclusive early morning access benefit. Join us Saturday, August 15, at 8:30 a.m. as the zoo opens early just for you. Bring your membership card to the West Entrance and watch the zoo wake up!
7.27.15 Did you know that members receive special offers on featured ZooStore items? Right now, only members receive 15% off a soft blanket, perfect for picnicking and ZooTunes concerts on the meadow this summer! Offers are updated seasonally, so keep checking back here or stop by the ZooStore so you don't miss any deals.
5.29.15 Wow! In just two years, you brought 200,000+ items to the zoo to be recycled through our Nature exchange program! Thank you for helping us divert so many batteries, corks, writing utensils, drink pouches, plastic lids and more from our landfills. While we are no longer able to accept these items here at the zoo, we encourage you to keep up the good work!
5.15.15 Missed the member preview of our brand new exhibit, Banyan Wilds? Don't worry, come see it now! Three Malayan tigers are out every day, exploring their new home, pouncing on each other, and napping under the shade of a banyan tree. You might even be lucky enough to find them splashing around in their pool!
4.22.15 As a Woodland Park Zoo member, you may purchase ZooTunes tickets before the general public. Now is your chance to secure tickets to your favorite summer concerts! Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 24.
4.11.15 Meet the new maned wolves in the zoo's Wildlife Survival Zone! Lana, 6 years old, and her son, Vinny, 4 years old, lived together at Greensboro Science Center before arriving at Woodland Park Zoo.
Thank you for being a member!
It’s an exciting year to be a member. In addition to all the usual fun, like Bunny Bounce and the ZooTunes member pre-sale, we have lion cubs making their debut soon, not to mention the new, state-of-the-art complex that will house the return of tigers and sloth bears! Members will get a first look at the new exhibit at the Member Preview on Thursday, April 30. You won’t want to miss it!
A few tips for members…
-- Membership cards can be picked up at the membership office at either entry. Cards are not mailed, and your membership starts at time of purchase, not when cards are picked up.
-- Once you have your card you’ll have easy access to the zoo! Just show your card plus your photo ID at the entrance, and avoid the lines to get looked up.
-- Want to bring your friends and family members to see your favorite animals? Annual Pass members get up to two half-price guests per named adult per visit. And Discovery Passport members get up to five half-price guests per visit per membership!
