ZOO NEIGHBORS

A zoo within a neighborhood

Howdy, neighbors

Woodland Park Zoo has been an urban oasis for the community since 1899. Our collection of animals, commitment to sustainability and dedication to wildlife conservation make it a very special place for families to reconnect and recharge. The zoo’s picturesque location on Phinney Ridge, along with continued support from our neighbors, truly sets us apart from other city assets.

We value our relationship with the community and are committed to being a good neighbor. Please check back often to stay current on the zoo’s events, exhibits and projects, especially those of particular interest to the neighborhood.

Construction Updates

Announcing Our New Forest Trailhead Exhibit!

As we continue to build our new Forest Trailhead exhibit opening in 2026, you may see construction activity in spring and summer including the installation of a tower crane on zoo grounds and use of our Flamingo parking lot for construction vehicles. We anticipate minimal disruption to neighbors.

The zoo and its construction partners will follow the City of Seattle’s noise ordinance. Construction activity will occur on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Construction will not occur on weekends. We will limit staging and vehicle idling in neighborhood streets by directing trucks to our parking lots.

For questions or concerns, please email us at zooneighbors@zoo.org or call our 24-hour security line for immediate needs at 206-295-0078.

Thank you for supporting Woodland Park Zoo as we reactivate this space!
