Zoo’s Draft Annual Plan for 2012 available for public review

Woodland Park Zoo’s Draft Annual Plan for 2012 is available to the public beginning December 2, 2011 to midnight, January 2, 2012. The Annual Plan briefly describes programmatic changes, capital improvements or planned fee changes for the upcoming year.


The Annual Plan is submitted to the Superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation as specified by the Zoo Operations and Management Agreement between the City of Seattle and Woodland Park Zoo Society. Submitted annually in the fourth quarter, the plan is available for review and comment on the zoo’s website: It is available for review in hard copy at the zoo’s administrative offices in the reception trailer at 601 N. 59th St., Seattle during zoo hours. Copies are provided as well to the zoo’s Neighborhood Liaison Committee, which consists of representatives of the neighboring community councils and other groups.

Fall/winter hours: 9:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. daily, October 1 through April 30. The zoo is open every day except Christmas Day, December 25.

Admission: Adult (13-64) $11.50; Child (3-12) $8.50; Toddler (0-2) free. Active and retired U.S. military and their families, seniors and people with physical disabilities receive an admission discount. Zoo members receive free zoo admission year round.
