Woodland Park Zoo offers a host of resources and programs for K-12 classes. For your visit to the zoo, we offer learning experiences facilitated by zoo staff or volunteers, helpful instructions and activities for zoo visits, and special Homeschool Days. We also offer outreach programs that come to your community, including live animal programs. These resources and programs can enhance your classroom curriculum and are designed to help students meet Washington’s K-12 Science Learning Standards for students in science and other subjects, as well as Washington’s Environmental and Sustainability Education Standards.

A New Zoo Experience for Schools!

Schools kids Northern Trail

As a teacher or a facilitator of a group coming to Woodland Park Zoo for an educational field trip, what do you want your students learn from their visit? What do you hope they will experience and become more curious about?

Your input is needed to help us redefine the new zoo experience for students!

We are in the process of revamping the zoo experience for schools – the programs and experiences that will be available for you and your students when you come to the zoo will be very different starting in the 2016-2017 school year. While the programs we have offered in the past (School-to-Zoo programs, ZEST programs and outreach programs WildWise and Up CLOSE) can be booked through this school season, some of these will no longer be available or will be undergoing changes for the 2016-2017 school year. Please see those individual program webpages for specific program information.

This next generations of zoo experiences will be informed by your response to a short survey.  Please help us provide the experiences and resources you expect from Woodland Park Zoo and assist us in creating the future zoo experience.

More information about the new school experiences will be posted by June 1, 2016.
