ZOO UNIVERSITY (ZOO U)
Zoo U programs are week-long full-day programs designed for students ages 10 to 14. Some sessions are geared for 10-12 year olds and others for 12-14 year olds. Programs run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For an additional fee, extended care is available before and after hours.
We offer two curricula so participants can attend one or two weeks of Zoo U. If selecting two weeks, please be sure children will not be repeating a curricula. Order does not matter.
For more information on our programs check out our Information for Parents and Campers and ZooU Frequently Asked Questions.

Summer 2013 Course Descriptions

Animal Behavior (Ages 10-12 and 12-14): Investigate what motivates animal behavior and how animals “learn” to do these things. Participants will think like scientists as they explore animal behaviors and design their own projects focusing on interesting behaviors in animals from snow leopards to gorillas to humans!
Animals on the Fly (Ages 10-12): Take off with us as we explore the flying animals around the zoo. Through games, observations of zoo animals and experiments, participants will discover what makes flight possible.
NEW! Animal Quest (Ages 12-14):
Head out into the world of a field researcher exploring bird populations, aquatic habitats, and invasive species through geocaching around Seattle. Note: This camp leaves zoo grounds and utilizes public transportation.
