PARTNERS FOR WILDLIFE

Real-world conservation solutions that work for wildlife and wild places

Formed in 2003, Woodland Park Zoo's PARTNERS FOR WILDLIFE focuses on three areas of the world: Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Pacific Northwest.  Partner projects take a comprehensive approach to wildlife conservation by incorporating habitat and species conservation, research, education, capacity building and community support.  These projects recognize that the human element is necessary for successful conservation.

WPZ’s field conservation projects — together with our animal care programs, naturalistic exhibits, and education efforts at the zoo — provide us the unique opportunity to leverage the public’s strong interest in charismatic animals to realize landscape-level biodiversity conservation, which is urgently needed for building a healthy, sustainable world for people and animals.
