Lunar New Year

Year of the Tiger


Lunar New Year is celebrated across the globe and 2022 is Year of the Tiger! What better time to harness some positive energy into protecting this endangered species?

Join Woodland Park Zoo in celebrating tigers with talks and programs centered around its resident Malayan tigers, Azul and Bumi.

Swing by a discovery station and enjoy hands-on activities, bio-facts, and fun stories and games highlighting tigers and their habitats.

10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tiger Discovery Station
10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Yummy Box food truck in West Plaza
10:30 a.m. – noon Rain or Shine Play Time
11:00 a.m. Tiger Talk and Enrichment
noon–2:00 p.m. Tiger Discovery Station
2:00 p.m. Tiger Talk
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tiger Discovery Station

Year of the Tiger activities will be held at the tiger exhibit or conservation action center in Banyan Wilds, where zoo-goers can be inspired to learn how they can help save wildlife and the forest.

Step back in time to when prehistoric giants ruled the Earth with the return of Dinosaur Discovery. Encounter 26 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs as the Habitat Discovery Loop transforms into beautiful prehistoric forest ‘Dinosaur Discovery’.
