Veterans Day Discount

They serve, they defend, they protect, they sacrifice, and Woodland Park Zoo salutes them. In honor of those who put themselves at risk in service to their community and country, the zoo extends free admission to all active, retired, and veteran U.S. military personnel and their spouses with valid service identification on Veterans Day. Veterans Day discounts cannot be combined with other offers or zoo discounts.

Honoring Those Who Serve

9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

To honor the veterans and active duty military members in the Puget Sound area, Woodland Park Zoo is hosting Honoring Those Who Serve, a day for military families to enjoy the zoo.

During Honoring Those Who Serve, Woodland Park Zoo will extend free admission to active, reserve, retired, and veteran U.S. military personnel and one family member with valid service identification.

  • Resource fair on veteran and family services
  • Guest speaker on family support services
  • A pop-up story-telling booth where people can record their best memories that day
  • Save 10% at zoo restaurants, concession stands, ZooStore gift shops and Kaman’s Art Shoppes when you show your valid Military identification

August 1 will have extended zoo hours and programing for Evening Zoo as well. The zoo will be open past normal hours until 8:30 p.m. Evening Zoo events include:

  • Presentations from animal ambassadors
  • Music and games on North Meadow
  • Beer and wine garden
  • Zoomazium play area for kids


Wild Asia: Asian Wildlife Conservation Day

9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Wild Asia: Asian Wildlife Conservation Day illustrates how the zoo’s partnerships are helping to save the endangered wildlife of Asia and bringing life sustaining commerce to indigenous families. Learn more about issues such as poaching and palm oil, and how your choices and actions can help to save Malayan tigers, greater one-horned rhinos, orangutans, tree kangaroos and other endangered animals. The day is filled with activities including keeper talks, crafts, family activities and more.

Experience the wild wonders of Evening Zoo after hours until 8:30 p.m.

Dates: June 21 and 28, July 5, 19 and 26, and August 1

Enjoy the zoo and its wildlife residents on a beautiful summer evening. Take a stroll throughout the zoo and be sure to stop in at Molbak’s Butterfly Garden, Tropical Rain Forest and Willawong Station. An assortment of food and beverages will be available for purchase. Ambassador animal presentations and discovery stations with biofacts and nature-inspired activities are among the Evening Zoo offerings on the spacious North Meadow. Make it a date night or a special evening for the family!

Evening Zoo costs regular zoo admission or is free for zoo members.
