Bobby - Instructor

I think you should all know that my favorite is a Tree Kangaroo! Now, for other things about me… I just graduated from Gonzaga University with my degree in Biology and a minor in German language. I cannot explain how excited I am to be back at Woodland Park Zoo and working with Zooper Day Camps! I look forward to meeting everyone and having a blast this summer!

Elizabeth - Instructor

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, and this summer will be my second as an instructor at Zooper Day Camp, and my sixth as a camp counselor. I’m a student at Western Washington University, where I’m studying for a degree in geology, but I also love animals! Some of my favorites at the zoo are the otters and the snakes. I can’t wait to meet everyone, and help them have a great summer of fun and learning!

Emily G-N - Instructor

Hello! My name is Emily. I'm a graduate of Western Washington University with my degree in Elementary Education. I love teaching, both in the classroom and outside of it—I've worked with kiddos in outdoor science classes, at the Tacoma Art Museum, and last summer at Woodland Park Zoo! I'm excited to return for new adventures with this year's campers. I can't wait to see what we learn together!

Erin - Instructor

Hi there, my name is Erin. I grew up on a farm in northwest Arkansas and I love exploring new places, so I’m excited to live in Seattle this summer! I earned a Biology degree at Principia College and have spent a couple of years teaching kids about environmental science in the great outdoors. Besides learning in the natural world, I love to visit museums, make jewelry, and dance. I can’t wait to jump into Zooper Day Camp at WPZ!

Jesse - Instructor

Hello! I'm Jesse and outside is my favorite place to be. I try to explore the forests, mountains, and waters of Washington as often as I can and love capturing it all with my camera. I give back to the land I love by maintaining trails with the WTA. After many years of running after-school programs and camps in Seattle, I'm getting ready to head back to grad school. Until then, I'm really looking forward to a fun summer with you at the zoo!

Kelli - Instructor

Hi, I’m Kelli! I recently graduated from UW with a BA in Environmental Studies and a focus in Environmental Education and Communication. I think learning about birds and plants is so cool! I’ve worked with YMCA and Islandwood outdoor camps in the past and I’m excited to be working with Zooper Day Camp this summer! When I’m not having fun at the zoo, I’m playing my ukulele, cooking, and gardening. I look forward to spending the summer with you!

Lily - Instructor

Hi! My name is Lily and I’m a student at Western Washington University as an Environmental Econ major and Sustainability minor. For the past 5 summers I have been a camp counselor at a pirate camp and I’m super excited to trade that job in to display my passion for animals and conservation while working at the zoo this summer. I look forward to teach campers this summer as well as learn from them and from the environment around us!

Max - Instructor

Hello, my name is Max and I just moved to Seattle from California. I couldn’t be happier to be here! I majored in Environmental Studies from Sarah Lawrence College. During my studies I’ve studied wildlife all over the world. Since graduating I’ve worked at a wildlife clinic, an elementary school, and as an instructor at the San Francisco Zoo. I look forward to spending a summer full of learning and lots of laughter with you!

Bethany - Assistant

Hello, I’m Bethany and I’m studying pre-health sciences at the UW. Growing up, going to the zoo was always such a treat and I am so excited to be able to spend my summer working at WPZ. If you ever are looking for me you’ll probably find me either watching the penguins or the otters. You might also find me: baking, hiking, canoeing, crafting, reading, or traveling. I can’t wait for a great summer filled with fun and animals!

Hey! I’m Jen and this will be my first summer at Woodland Park. I am so excited to meet all you campers and hang with the monkeys while learning about wildlife and the environment. I am majoring in elementary education at PLU, and have experience volunteering in classrooms and after-school programs and camps and coaching! I hope you guys are ready to learn about and see some pretty interesting and captivating creatures!

Hi! I’m Kaye and this is my first summer as a Zooper Day Camp assistant. I am so excited to spend my summer at the zoo talking about animals, making things, and playing outside. When I am not at the zoo I am usually running, hiking, camping, playing music or talking about science! I am going to be a senior at Ballard High School next year and a Running Start student at Shoreline Community College. I hope to study a life science in college!

Hi! My name is Millie, and I am so excited for this summer with the campers! I am from Oak Harbor on beautiful Whidbey Island, and I am a student at the University of Washington. I recently served children in Dominican Republic villages. I am extremely passionate about global health education, the environment, and sports medicine. When I’m not studying for classes you can find me playing volleyball, painting, or adventuring in the great outdoors.

Niva - Assistant

Hello! My name is Niva, I'm an undergraduate the University of Washington studying anthropology and journalism. I love animals (I have a pet cat named Sean), and I love being outdoors. I've also worked at overnight camps as a volunteer and a counselor in the past, so I'm really excited to work at the zoo this summer! I'm known among friends for my extreme enthusiasm, no matter what I'm doing, so a good time at the zoo this summer is guaranteed!

Taylor - Assistant

Hello! My name is Taylor Bobovsky, and I am a recent graduate from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. While I was there I studied biology, and did research in Zambia and Australia as well. I am an avid horseback rider, and love spending as much time outdoors as possible. My favorite animal of all time is the Snow Leopard. I am ecstatic to be working at Woodland Park Zoo this summer, as it has always been a dream of mine!

Shelby- Assistant

Hey! My name is Shelby, and I'm a student at the University of Montana, studying Fish and Wildlife Biology and Botany! I've spent the past four summers working at the Audubon Conservation Center in Billings, MT, teaching camps and volunteering at a neighborhood daycare! I love nature, wildlife, and the outdoors, and of course, teaching kids! When I'm not teaching, I'm usually out fishing and hiking, but I love a good book and a good cup of tea!

Maddie - Assistant

Hi everyone!  My name is Maddy. I am originally from Oregon where I spent my high school years learning how to show farm animals with 4-H. When I’m not hanging out with my goats, ducks and dogs (oh my!), I love running, playing soccer, and swimming.  I have spent the last five summers working as a swim instructor and I just got back from an incredible semester in Rennes, France. I’m so excited to be in Seattle this summer and I can’t wait to spend my days learning teaching about wildlife and conservation.

Hi, my name is Kristin!  I am a recent graduate in biology, working as an assistant teacher in special education during the school year.  This is my first time working at the zoo, and I am so excited to meet everyone!  Previously I’ve been a camp counselor and day care teacher.  I love hiking, camping, and bird-watching, as well as doing creative activities like crafts and music. Get ready to have fun with conservation this summer!
