ZOOPER CAMP STAFF BIOS

Camp Staff

Bobby - Assistant

Hi! I am Bobby and Iam a sophomore at Gonzaga University, studying Biology and German. I worked with Zooper Camps last summer and am so excited to come back. I absolutely love the zoo! The first time I came to WPZ I was 1 year old. I do have a favorite animal, it’s a tree kangaroo, and if you are in one of my camp groups you can ask me about it! I think this summer is going to be so much fun and I cannot wait to share this experience with you all!

Bri - Instructor

Hello I am Bri! As a recent Chicago transplant, I am excited for a summer at the zoo. Since graduating from the University of Illinois, I have been an informal educator-first at a local nature center and then at Lincoln Park Zoo. I have always had an affinity for the natural world and it has been a gift to educate children about the environment and help them develop empathy. I look forward to sharing unique wildlife experiences with our campers!

Camp Staff

Haven - Instructor

Hi I’m Haven! I'm currently going to school to be a zoologist with a minor in education. This will be my fourth summer working at the WPZ. I'm so proud to be part of this wonderful team again! I absolutely love crafts and exploring, and I live for sharing (and learning) fun facts. Coming to the zoo expands my list of favorite animals daily, but I have always liked pigs. I can’t wait to see all the returning campers and new faces and introduce you to our furry, scaly, and feathery friends.

Hi, my name is Izzy! I am a junior at Seattle University and I am studying Environmental Engineering. I am passionate about conservation and rehabilitation of the environment. I spend a lot of my time outdoors doing activities such as hiking, camping and kayaking. Last summer I volunteered at a science camp for children, and I loved it! I am very excited to spend my entire summer this year with Zooper campers, exploring and learning about animals!

Jessica - Assistant

Hey, y'all! I'm Jessica and this will be my first summer at Zooper Camp, which I am beyond excited about! I've lived in Seattle for four years, attending school at Seattle University to pursue degrees in Humanities for Teaching and Biology. Working in the field of education with students of all ages has been my passion for as long as I can remember, so being part of the Zooper team is a perfect fit for me. I look forward to meeting all of you animal enthusiasts this summer!

Camp Staff

Jordan - Instructor

Hi there!  My name is Jordan. I am really excited to be part of camp this summer. I went to Colorado State and graduated with a degree in Wildlife Biology. Growing up I visited Woodland Park Zoo on a monthly basis and went to almost every kind of summer camp. During college I worked at two wildlife rehabilitation centers and rehabilitated many different species of wildlife. I am a big fan of being silly and try to live my life with the "can-do, happy go-lucky" spirit of kids.

Camp Staff

Josh - Instructor

Hey everyone! I'm Josh, and I am so excited to be joining the Woodland Parks Zoo this summer. I'm a biology student at Tufts University and I love being out in nature: hiking, swimming, climbing, you name it! I worked as a swim coach for five years and have spent lots of time teaching chemistry to kids at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Come say hi and I'll tell you all about my favorite animal, the mimic octopus!

I am originally from Bend, Oregon and recently returned to the Pacific Northwest after living in Louisville, KY for the past two years. In Kentucky I was working at the local animal shelter. I loved it, but knew that Seattle was where I wanted to be and getting to spend my first summer here at the zoo couldn't be more exciting! I can’t wait to meet everyone and have an awesome time at camp!

I can’t wait to spend the summer singing, learning, laughing, and having a generally wonderful time with all of you!
