Youth Programs

 

 

Zoomazium

9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Daily

With different play areas for children from birth to 8 is an indoor place to explore, play and have fun! What could be more fun than exploring a mountain cave, crossing a rope bridge in the tree canopy, discovering what lies beneath a savanna water hole or even climbing a 20-foot tree?! All this and more are awaiting discovery for young children interested in nature.

Shake, Rattle and Roar

Tune in for a wild toddler music program! Join the fun with an animal themed song followed by music and shakers of all kinds. 


 

Zoo Vets

Zoomazium

10:30 a.m. Saturdays & Sundays

Come learn what it takes to be a veterinarian at the zoo. Designed for younger audiences, this role-playing program will walk through some of the actual procedures our veterinary team provides to the animals that live here at the zoo.


 

Look, Listen and Feel Storytime

Banda Hut in the African Village

10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

Designed for young guests, this story time experience is designed to be multisensory and themed to each season.


 

Turtle Head Start Lab

Basecamp Northwest in the Living Northwest Trail

2:00 p.m. Mondays – Thursdays

Learn how the zoo helps raise endangered western pond turtles. Being a small turtle in the wild has its challenges but with a little help from the zoo we can help the turtles thrive. This hands-on activity lets young guests learn and mimic the work the zoo's animal keepers do in the Turtle Head Start Center to release young turtles into the wild every summer.


 

Grizzly Quest

3:00 p.m. Mondays & Fridays
11:30 a.m. Wednesdays

Help a bear cub make their way to the North Cascades through an interactive board game. Learn how to safely enjoy the outdoor while being “bear aware,” and how we can live alongside other carnivores found in the Pacific Northwest.
