HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Bring Your Costume

During Pumpkin Bash, one child 12 years and under is admitted to the zoo FREE per each full-priced adult ticket, and costumes are encouraged.

Join us on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Woodland Park Zoo's Pumpkin Bash presented by Smile Generation. Enjoy a delightful day filled with pumpkins for animals, trick-or-treating, and more for little goblins, ghosts and “ferocious” critters!

Kids will have a blast trick-or-treating throughout the zoo and participating in the special mascot-led costume parade! Boo-mazium will be a hub of excitement, featuring a variety of engaging activities tailored for our youngest visitors. And, this year, don’t miss out on a live pumpkin carving demonstration on Sunday!

Many of our animals, including bears, tapirs, wolves, tigers and otters, will also get into the Halloween spirit as they gobble, smash, crunch, or play with pumpkins and other autumn-themed treats. These special enrichments are part of our excellent animal care program to encourage natural animal behavior and keep our animals physically and mentally stimulated—they're fun for our guests, too!

Pumpkin Bash activities are free with zoo admission or membership.

Animal Ofrenda

Join us as we honor the spirit of our beloved animals and the joy they brought to our lives!

In honor of Día de Muertos, Woodland Park Zoo invites you to join us in celebrating and remembering the pets and animals who have touched our lives through a special Animal Ofrenda. Starting October 20, 2025, our dedicated staff will begin constructing the ofrenda at Briar Oak, and we encourage the community to participate by adding photos, offerings, and tributes to beloved animals who have passed.

The ofrenda will be unveiled on October 27, 2025, and will be accessible to guests during regular zoo hours through November 2, 2025. On October 27, 2025, we’ll host a celebration filled with fun activities, including paper picture frame decorating and themed animal coloring pages, with more activities to be announced. Whether you wish to contribute or simply experience this heartfelt tribute, join us in honoring the spirit of Día de Muertos and the animals who brought us joy.

Important Details:

  • Public contributions will begin on October 22, 2025 during zoo hours (admission or membership required; no drop-offs accepted).
  • Zoo staff will be available at select times in Briar Oak to assist with printing digital photos (dates and times TBD). Coloring sheets and photo frame decorating supplies will also be available during these hours.
  • Submit photos, drawings, or notes in digital form here, which will be featured in a slideshow playing on the four TVs located inside Briar Oak. The deadline for photo submissions is October 25, 2025.
  • Please note that items contributed will not be returned.
