ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Zoo Careers Exploration Day

Flamingo Exam

Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 
Age: 13 - 18 years
Cost: $20.00 per youth

Join us this fall to explore diverse career pathways and learn firsthand what Woodland Park Zoo is all about. You'll hear from a career panel of zoo professionals and have a chance to ask all the questions in a joint Q&A. Leave with some tips about educational paths and experiences that can help launch you into a zoo or conservation career. After the program is over, you will be able to explore the zoo for the rest of the day on your own!

Thanks to your feedback and participation in our Spring Teen Talks and Tours pilot program, we’re launching a new and improved version for the 2025-2026 school year!

 Teen Talks!

Canada Lynx

Participants: Groups of 20 to 100 high school-aged youth who are curious, passionate, and interested in conservation, animal wellbeing, and the environment.
Availability: Select weekdays between 9:00am – 4:00pm, Fall 2025 – June 2026
Time Commitment: Up to 4 hours at the zoo. 

This career-connected learning experience gives students an insider's view into all the work happening at Woodland Park Zoo on behalf of wildlife. Students will explore diverse zoo and conservation career opportunities including: 

  • Hands-on activities focusing on animal wellbeing, local and global conservation, human coexistence with wildlife, and how students can contribute. 
  • Conversations with WPZ staff experts highlighting the variety of jobs it takes to keep the zoo thriving, and the many diverse pathways to a career in conservation. 
  • Explore the zoo like a pro as you investigate how the zoo promotes empathy for wildlife, cares for animals, showcases sustainability, and supports conservation work around the world.

cancelation policy

Programs and Classes Cancelation Policy

A minimum of 2 weeks notice is required for cancellation refunds. We are unable to offer refunds or credits for cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the program date.

Registration fees are non-refundable. 

Woodland Park Zoo reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. Should this occur, a credit or refund will be issued.
