Forest Trailhead Groundbreaking Ceremony

Thursday, May 4, 2023

Ceremony to begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow

Woodland Park Zoo’s Board of Directors invites you to celebrate new beginnings taking root from forest floor to canopy. Please join us as we kick off rebuilding the heart of our zoo. At this groundbreaking ceremony, zoo and community leaders will discuss the promise of our Forests for All campaign for local and global communities, reveal updated exhibit renderings and highlight the sustainability efforts underway for the Forest Trailhead’s design, site preparation and construction.

Our new Forest Trailhead exhibit is anticipated to open in 2026 as the final, capital anchor of our Forests for All campaign. Through this new exhibit experience, we will reimagine what a zoo can be, explore the ways in which we build powerful, emotional connections with animals, and unite local and global communities to protect, restore and sustain forests for the benefit of animals and people.
