Passion for Pollinators

Wednesday, August 1, 2018
Day 1 Playfield – 2121 7th Ave., Seattle

Commit to protecting pollinators—from butterflies to bees—and build a mini-garden that is a pollinator perfect destination in backyards or on balconies. Plant a mini-garden (first 350 guests), paint a garden rock with a pledge to conserve pollinators, take selfies in bee costumes or with pollinator-themed photo frames and props, take home a seed packet to plant (700 available) and meet one of Woodland Park Zoo’s charming ambassador animals during the first half hour.

Meet the Ambassadors

Tuesday, August 14, 2018
Van Vorst Plaza – 426 Terry Ave. N., Seattle

From Blueberry the hornbill to Skyáana the porcupine, learn about Woodland Park Zoo’s incredible ambassador animals through an engaging up-close experience. Two animal programs will take place at 11:30 and 12:10. In between programs, zoo docents will share Pacific Northwest-related biofacts and discuss the zoo’s field conservation projects to save wildlife and their wild places in Washington.

Animals of the Amazon

Wednesday, August 29, 2018
Day 1 Playfield – 2121 7th Ave., Seattle

Experience the lushness of South America, snap a selfie in front of stunning photos of animals native to South America such as a poison dart frog, a jaguar and a pudu, meet a Woodland Park Zoo ambassador animal at 11:00 and chat with zoo docents sharing a variety of fascinating biofacts.
