Woodland Park Zoo Rose Garden

Saturday, March 14, 2020
12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Seattle Rose Society is hosting its annual rose pruning demonstration at the beautiful Rose Garden at Woodland Park Zoo.

Gain insight into the world of roses and how to care for them, and get answers to your questions by rosarians. Learn where and how much to cut and how to use your tools properly for correct cuts, and discover the varieties of roses and pruning techniques.

The Rose Garden offers a splendid setting for flower lovers to stroll the grass pathways circulating through 2½ acres of rose displays. The garden's extensive array of bush roses, hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, and climbers blend elegantly with the garden's formal architectural design to create a memorable showcase landscape.

Bunny Bounce

Easter Baskets for the Animals

Saturday, April 11, 2020
9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Hop, skip and jump to Woodland Park Zoo for the 18th annual Bunny Bounce presented by KinderCare, featuring amazing egg hunts for children ages 1–8, crafts, bunny encounters and eggs-citing zoo programs throughout the day. Space may be limited. Each egg hunt is open on a first-come, first-served basis. Orangutans, lemurs, grizzlies, and more nibble on specially made Easter baskets lined with flowers, berries and other favorite treats. The special treats are part of the zoo’s excellent animal care program to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals. The safe activities help encourage natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally and physically stimulated and provide extraordinary experiences for zoo visitors.

Aerial View of Woodland Park Zoo

Saturday, April 25, 2020

We’re thrilled to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 2020. We are committed to inspiring conservation in everyone’s lives. On Saturday April 25, join us—along with our conservation and community partners—on zoo grounds to help make Earth Day for All extra special. Activities include pollinator awareness, tours of the Zoo Doo yard, and a full suite of animal keeper talks and delicious treats for the animals. Special efforts will be made to make talks inclusive for people with a wide range of abilities and sensory needs, including American Sign Language interpretation, and complimentary wheelchairs.
