Toss the Tusk

Saturday, April 6, 2019 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Help End the Market for Wildlife Trafficking

At Toss the Tusk, Woodland Park Zoo and Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife offer you a secure and legal way to donate items made from endangered animal parts to take them off your hands and out of the market for trafficked species. Items will go into the safekeeping of state law enforcement and may be used in official education programs to combat wildlife trafficking.

Washington state voters were the first in the nation to pass a statewide ban on wildlife trafficking by the will of the people. Thanks to you, officials are closing legal loopholes and enforcing wildlife protection across the state. Now let’s crush the market, stop the demand, and end wildlife trafficking for good.

Where do I drop off my items?
Woodland Park Zoo's South Gate entrance (Hippo lot)
You will not need to enter the zoo to reach the drop-off area.

What can I drop off?
You can part with items made from endangered animal parts that you no longer wish to own, such as trinkets, trophies and household decor. 10 of the world's most illegally traded endangered species include: elephants, rhinos, tigers, lions, leopards, cheetahs, pangolins, marine turtles, sharks and rays.
