the finalized concert dates will be announced on April 27, 2009.

is my local Metropolitan Market?
Please check the Metropolitan Market Web site at www.metropolitan-market.com for
locations.
Can
I buy tickets over the phone or over the Internet?
Limited
internet sales are available on BrownPaperTickets.com.
We
do not offer phone sales at this time.
How
much will tickets cost? Do zoo members receive a discount?
Ticket prices vary by artist. BECU ZooTunes
presented by Carter Subaru is a major fundraiser for the zoo to support
animal care, zoo maintenance and upkeep, education programs for children
and adults, and conservation programs that are helping to preserve
wildlife species in our state and all over the world. Tickets to
BECU ZooTunes presented by Carter Subaru remain the best concert
bargain in the Northwest, and we have worked very hard in an increasingly
competitive market to keep ticket prices as low as possible.
Zoo
members do not receive a discount to the concerts.
Do
you offer special discounted ticket packages?
We do not offer discounts for concerts.
What
is this $1 facility fee?
A $1 facility fee has been added to the ticket price
at all ticket outlets to help fund the maintenance of the zoo's concert
facilities.
What
methods of payment are accepted?
Cash, credit cards (Visa and/or MasterCard), and
checks are accepted at both Metropolitan Market and zoo gates. If
you are presenting a check, ID will be required.
Can
I return my tickets?
Unfortunately,
we do not offer returns or exchanges on any ticket purchase. All
sales are final.
Is
there a limit on the number of tickets I can purchase?
There is a ticket purchase limit of 8 tickets for
each performance. As long as customers stay within the cap of 8 tickets
per performance, they may even buy 8 for each show to the whole series.
Does
my concert ticket provide me with admission to
the zoo?
If you are interested in attending the zoo before
the concert, then you will need to purchase a separate admission
ticket at zoo gates. The concert ticket only covers admission to
that evening’s performance.
Do
you offer a Will Call?
There is a Will Call booth conveniently located just
outside the zoo’s North Entrance, located off Phinney Ave at the intersection of N.
59th St. and Evanston Ave. This service opens at 4:30 p.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m.
on the night of each performance. Feel free to use this service and
drop off tickets for late arriving guests.
Do
you offer special discounted ticket packages?
We do not offer discounts.
Is
it true that children 12 and under are free?
Yes,
it is true. One (1) child 12 years of age and younger is free with
each paid ticket. Again, each paid ticket holder may only bring in
one (1) complimentary child.
Where
can I buy tickets on the day of the show?
If
tickets are still available on the day of the show, you may purchase
them at the Sandpoint Metropolitan Market location until 4:00pm.
You may also purchase tickets at zoo gates.
What
can I bring to the concerts?
You are
welcome to bring low-backed folding chairs (24” tall or lower),
blankets and picnics to the concerts. To ensure that everyone gets
a good chance to see the show, you will be asked to fold down your
chair if it’s over 24” high.
What is NOT permitted at the concerts?
For the safety and enjoyment of
our guests and the animals, certain items are not permitted at
the concerts:
Balls,
balloons, Frisbees, BBQs, pets (except service animals), skates,
skateboards, bikes and scooters are among the most popular
items that are not allowed at the concerts, or at the zoo.
Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted on zoo grounds.
Smoking is not permitted on zoo grounds.
Please
do not bring flags or balloons to mark your location for members
of your party. You will be asked to remove flags as soon as
the opening act begins to ensure the best viewing experience
for all. Balloons are not permitted on zoo grounds for the
health and safety of the animals. Please make other arrangements
or establish a meeting place.
What
is for sale at the concerts?
Concession
stands are available which offer a variety of picnic foods, treats and beverages
from the zoo’s new food service partner, Lancer Catering. We will also
have a Beer & Wine Garden that offers a selection of beverages for adults
over the age of 21.
In addition to food and beverages, we often have artist merchandise
for sale at concerts. Look for the merchandise tent near the front
of the meadow near the stage.
Can I bring alcohol with my
picnic?
No, outside alcohol is prohibited on zoo grounds. We do offer alcoholic beverages
in our Beer and Wine Garden from 5:00 p.m. until 30 minutes prior to the
show end.
Will there by early entry for ticketholders with disabilities or special needs?
We are currently trying to improve access for concert-goers with disabilities by updating our entry policies. There will now be a separate entry line for concert-goers with disabilities inside the zoo at the north gate. There will also be a reserved section that concert-goers with disabilities can choose to utilize upon entry. No early access will be granted, but the separate entry line and reserved section will allow for equal and convenient access. Signs will be posted and staff available to help direct ticketholders to the disability section as needed.
Please note that this policy has been updated as of June 22, 2009 to include a separate entry line for ticketholders with disabilities after the first concert of the season revealed a need for this improvement to disabled entry access. We apologize for any inconvenience our concert-goers may have incurred previously and we hope to continue to improve our accessibility and convenience with your feedback.
I really want a good spot to see my favorite
artist. What do I do?
The North Meadow provides great views from just about any point, but
if you are looking for front and center, you will want to come early.
The line outside
the zoo typically forms around 4:00 p.m.
How
do I get to the zoo?
Please refer to the Directions
and Maps page on the zoo’s website for directions and information.
Parking
for the concerts can be kind of a hassle? Is there a shuttle or buses? What about secure bike parking?
We encourage all attendees to carpool or find alternative transportation to
the concerts. Doing so improves traffic and parking congestion, as well as
creating less of an impact on our environment. Woodland Park Zoo’s partner,
Shuttle Express, is offering special ZooTunes shuttle services right to the
zoo entrance on concert days. Check out the Directions/Parking tab for information on the Fan Pool Shuttle. For general info, visit www.shuttleexpress.com or
call 425.981.7000.
Bicycle parking is NOT a hassle at ZooTunes. We provide a special bicycle corral right at the main concert entrance at N. 59th Street. If you live within a few miles of the zoo, bicycling is a great way to enjoy the concert AND enjoy the ride to the zoo.
There are also several bus routes that stop within blocks
of the zoo. For Metro
information call 206-553-3000 or check http://transit.metrokc.gov for
routes and information. Also, the zoo provides secure, staffed bike corrals
located
at the North Gate, which are free of charge. Additional parking and transportation
details are available on the Directions
and Maps page of the zoo’s website.
If you do need
to drive, consider carpooling and using the parking lot at Lower
Woodland Park, just east of the south entrance to the
zoo on N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave. N. If space is not available
in the parking lots, please be considerate of the local residents
when parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
Please do not block driveways or leave garbage.
But
what if I still need more information?
If you have special questions or issues that are not addressed on the
website or concert hotline, please contact the Concerts Staff at concerts@zoo.org.
Please be aware that we receive a tremendous volume of calls and emails. We
will make every effort to return your inquiry as soon as possible, though sometimes
there will be a delay. Inquiries sent the week or day of a concert will more
than likely not receive a response in a timely manner. Thank you for your consideration.
