Ambassadors for the next generation
Who can connect more with kids than other kids? This was the impetus that created ZooKids, a group of 9 bright, energetic kids who serve as official ambassadors for Zoomazium.

The ZooKids were chosen from dozens of applicants who wrote essays on the topic, “My connection with wildlife and nature and why I want to be a ZooKid.” Fifty candidates auditioned and the top 9 were chosen for the project. The ZooKids help design Zoomazium for maximum appeal to younger children, “kid-friendliness,” and child-appropriate messages about nature, They also serve as ambassadors at special events at the zoo and in the community.

The 9 ZooKids are: 8-year-old Olivia; 8-year-old Paulson; 7-year-old Logan; 9-year-old Katherine; 6-year-old Evan; 10-year-old Kate; 8-year-old Cameron; 9-year-old Deana; and 10-year-old Safaa.

When you visit Zoomazium, you might just get a chance to meet one of these dynamic young people. Make sure to say “Hi!”.
