Rainy Day Tours

So it’s started to rain, the kids are getting a bit of cabin fever and you’re wondering what you can do to get out of the house, get some exercise and see something interesting?

Why not a visit to Woodland Park Zoo?!

It may be gray, but there’s a world of fun and learning at the zoo, and lots of indoor exhibits and venues to keep you warm and dry.

And plenty of fascinating animals to see! Upside-down bats, fuzzy golden lion tamarin monkeys, a spotted jaguar, slithering snakes and terrific toads—dozens of creatures representing species from all around the world are here to discover.

And there’s plenty to do! Zoomazium is a safe, warm spot where your kids can climb an indoor mountain, scale a giant strangler fig tree, or trade and learn about nature items at Nature Exchange. Zoomazium also has great interactive programs where kids can learn more about spiders, bears and lots of other animals and the places they come from.

Need a bit of a break and something warm to eat or drink? Visit the Rain Forest Food Pavilion, right across from Zoomazium, to get a latte or a quick bite before heading back onto zoo grounds to see the grizzly bears in Northern Trail, the insects in Bug World or the parrots in Willawong Station.

End your visit with a trip through our ZooStore where you can purchase exotic items from around the world—and support our conservation and education programs in the process!

Just because it’s rainy doesn’t mean it’s not a perfect day for a visit to Woodland Park Zoo.
