**PLEASE NOTE: Penguins are no longer on exhibit while we construct them a new home! The penguins will return in summer 2009.

Ramblers: Look for the "Ask Me" button
Habitat Ramblers can be found in the African Savanna, Northern Trail, Tropical Asia, or in the Tropical Rain Forest. With a variety of animal props and enrichment items used by keepers, volunteer Habitat Ramblers share information about bioclimatic zones, animal enrichment activities and conservation efforts.

Want a close encounter with the animal kind? Here's your chance to meet a lizard, snake, millipede or other small zoo animal up-close and personal. Look for the Animal Encounters cart!

Chilean flamingos

Flock to the zoo beginning May 24 to see these gregarious, long-legged and long-necked birds that will tickle you pink. The exhibit will feature several interactive elements to engage children in play and learning and delight visitors of all ages as you learn more about these exotic birds. Free with admission or membership.

Our year round, indoor, play space, Zoomazium is designed for younger children to explore nature in a variety of themed settings, from a mountaintop to an African waterhole. Zoomazium also contains Nature Exchange, an activity for kids (and adults) to learn more about, and trade, nature-based items, art and more.

A treasured moment in a child's life, a ride on a carousel is to be transported back to another time. A ride on this special, hand-crafted, 1918-vintage carousel is like no other! Fun for the entire family and proceeds help benefit the zoo's animal care and general operations.
