Community Access Programs at Woodland Park Zoo

Community Access Programs

Providing access to Woodland Park Zoo is an important part of our mission to help educate the community about nature and how we all fit into it. Woodland Park Zoo annually provides 40,000 complimentary tickets to more than 300 King County social service organizations for individuals that may be limited in their ability to pay admission fees. These agencies serve homeless shelters, food banks, senior centers and homes, minority programs, disabled and mental health facilities, low-income youth centers and more.

Woodland Park Zoo and The Moyer Foundation have launched ZOOM: Zoo Opportunities Open to More, a program designed to help children visit the zoo, free of charge. The zoo has already made thousands of ZOOM passes available to children through The Moyer Foundation. Through the partnership, the Foundation makes zoo passes available to the organizations that have been funded by the Foundation.

School-to-Zoo is a King County-funded program that pays for schools with 30% reduced-fee lunch programs to visit the zoo, including transporation costs. Find out more about School-to-Zoo and our other school partnerships.
