What:
The historic carousel at Woodland Park Zoo will close March 3 through
March 14 for maintenance. The restored carousel was the 45th constructed
by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and began its service in 1918
for the Cincinnati Zoo. Famous for its dedication to engineering
masterworks and exquisitely carved horses 3⁄4 most hand-carved
by master craftsman John Zalar 3⁄4 the Philadelphia Toboggan
Company produced some of the most beautiful carousels ever constructed.
When:
Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 14.
Where:
The historic carousel is located on the North Meadow near the North Entrance
of the zoo off N. 59th St. & Phinney Ave. N.
Cost:
In addition to zoo admission, carousel rides are $2. Tokens can be purchased
in the carousel pavilion.

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily through April 30. Admission fees through
April 30: Adult (13-64) $11.00; Child (3-12) $8.00. Free for children 2 and
under year round. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount
and zoo members receive free zoo admission year round.
Parking: $4.50. Consider taking the bus, biking, walking or carpooling. Conserving
