Zoo increases winter admission fee
– Closed Christmas day

SEATTLE - Woodland Park Zoo will increase its winter admission fee by $.50 to help offset increasing costs. Effective January 1, 2008, the new fees through April 30 are: Adult (13-64) $11.00; Child (3-12) $8.00; and Toddler (0-2) Free. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount. Parking also will increase by $.50 to offset the City of Seattle’s parking tax. The new parking fee will be $4.50 effective January 1, 2008.
 
Summer admission will remain the same from May 1 through September 30: Adult (13-64) $15.00; Child (3-12) $10.00; and Toddler (0-2) Free. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount.
 
Zoo members receive free admission year round and a host of benefits including half price admission for up to five guests per visit, free admission to more than 120 reciprocal zoos and aquariums across the U.S. and Canada, and a free subscription to the member quarterly magazine, “@thezoo.” Membership prices for individuals and families range from $50 to $150, with a discounted price when purchased online at www.zoo.org.

For the first time, Woodland Park Zoo will close on Christmas day, December 25. The zoo opens the other 364 days of the year. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily October 1 through April 30; and 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily May 1 through September 30. Visitors are permitted to remain on grounds one hour after closing.
