What:       
Media are invited to watch as the zoo’s lion’s pounce on a couple of turkeys!  Next, visit the irresistibly cute arctic foxes while they nosh on turkey legs and wings.

The special treats are a part of the zookeepers’ ongoing efforts to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals, promote natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally and physically stimulated and provide added enjoyment for zoo visitors.

When:  
Photo op at lions and arctic foxes: Thursday, November 15
Lions: 10:30 a.m.
Arctic fox: 10:45 a.m.
 
Turkey Toss for visitors: Saturday, November 17, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m

Where:  
Meet at the zoo’s ARC building near the West Entrance at N. 55th St. & Phinney Ave. N. Staff will escort you to the lion exhibit in the African Savanna, followed by the arctic fox exhibit in the Northern Trail. The ARC is locked – late arrivals may enter through the West Entrance and proceed to the exhibits.

Turkey Toss is Saturday, November 17, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at various exhibits throughout the zoo. For a full schedule, visit the zoo’s Web site at www.zoo.org and click on “Turkey Toss.” The activities are free with zoo admission.
