Zoo to host backyard habitat workshop

What:       
Visitors and Seattle Storm basketball fans will have the opportunity to meet five of the Seattle Storm’s key players while they sign autographs and talk to fans during Storm Day at the Zoo. Storm players will also be giving out free carousel rides between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. at the carousel (for the first 150 riders). Also, don’t miss the chance to meet Doppler, the Storm’s mascot! The zoo welcomes: Sue Bird, Iziane Castro Marques, Ashley Robinson, Shyra Ely and Katie Gearlds.

When/Where:  

  • Sunday, August 5, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Meet and Greet at the zoo’s South Entrance Plaza: 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Players will be stationed at the zoo’s African Village or historic carousel (free rides for the first 150): 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Cost:
Free with zoo admission. Zoo admission: May 1-September 30: Adult (13-64) $15; Child (3-12) $10. Free for children 2 and under year round. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount and zoo members receive free zoo admission year round. The bird walk is free for members.

Other:
During Storm Day at the Zoo, fans are permitted to bring basketballs on-grounds for autographs only – not to play with. Usually, for animal safety reasons, balls are not allowed on zoo-grounds. The Storm will bring glossy photos/posters to sign.
