SEATTLE
- Bev Clevenger has joined Woodland Park Zoo as the Director of Education.
Clevenger brings a wealth of experience in designing, building and
leading informal education programs for institutions throughout the
country. Her experience includes more than 20 years of working with
a profound interest in and intent of opening options and opportunities
to learners of all ages.
Most recently Clevenger was Director of the large education department
at Seattle’s Museum of Flight. Previous to the Education Director
position at the Museum of Flight, she served in multiple positions,
including Senior Director of Innovation at the Learning Exchange
in Missouri and working with numerous organizations across the country
over the past 20 years.
Clevenger has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri
Kansas City in reading/learning education and a Bachelors of Arts
degree from Eastern Washington University in communication disorders,
speech/language pathology and education.
Clevenger grew up in Washington, and spent her summers camping and
hiking in the Olympic Peninsula; she’s now an avid scuba diver
and very involved in coral conservation in a community-based conservation
project in Honduras.
