What: Meet ferrets and a baby red-footed tortoise as the zoo presents its first “Locomotion Commotion” program to zoo visitors. The animals are part of the array of interactive programs offered at the new Zoomazium where children learn through the natural language of childhood – play!
Ask for a Rainy Day Tour map at the zoo and you get exercise, learning and fun indoors and under sheltered areas: Zoomazium, a safe, warm spot where kids can climb an indoor mountain, scale a giant strangler fig tree, pop out of a giant egg or trade and learn about nature items at Nature Exchange. A slice of desert life and a glimpse into nature’s night shift at Day and Night Exhibits. The world’s smallest animals – arthropods – at Bug World. Grizzlies and otters in a viewing shelter and much more. When: Where: Info: Winter hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Admission: Adult (13-64) $10.50; Child (3-12) $7.50; Toddler (0-2) Free.
