What:
Celebrate our bear friends with a variety of opportunities to learn more about them – from grizzly bears to sun and sloth bears. Bear Affair, Saturday-Sunday, September 23-24, treats visitors to free keeper talks, enrichment for the bears, mini-presentations by the Grizzly Bear Outreach Project (GBOP) on wild grizzly bears and bear conservation, bear discovery boxes and more.

Don’t miss the special demonstration on bear-proof — and non-bear proof — camping equipment that will involve the zoo’s own brown bears. On Saturday, kids can take part in the “Bear Affair” picnic on the North Meadow. Bring your favorite bear and a picnic lunch, or purchase special goodies from zoo food concessions. Booths from wildlife and conservation organizations concerned with bears and bear habitat will be on the North Meadow.
