Your Woodland Park Zoo adventure will offer the opportunity to share the magic
of discovery with your children as you explore Costa Rica’s ecologically
diverse habitats. Raft the Sarapiqui River. Explore Arenal Volcano on guided
walks through the forests and across lava flows to learn about the geology that
makes this region unique. Hike through the rich tropical rain forest to search
for monkeys, three-toed sloth, kingfisher and toucan. View Monteverde Cloud Forest
from the Sky Walk. Baird’s tapir, jaguar and ocelot inhabit this forest
reserve. Carara Biological Reserve’s lagoons, marshlands and forests support
populations of crocodile, caiman, coatamundi, peccary, white-faced capuchin,
howler and spider monkeys, and the scarlet macaw. Enjoy a horseback ride to Nauyaca
Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica. Cost: $3,195 per
person; $2,595 for children 8-11 years of age sharing a room with two adults.
