Hike through the rich tropical rain forest to search for monkeys, three-toed sloth, kingfisher and toucan. View Monteverde Cloud Forest from the Sky Walk. Baird’s tapir, jaguar and ocelot inhabit this forest reserve. Carara Biological Reserve’s lagoons, marshlands and forests support populations of crocodile, caiman, coatamundi, peccary, white-faced capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, and the scarlet macaw. Enjoy a horseback ride to Nauyaca Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica. Cost: $3,195 per person; $2,595 for children 8-11 years of age sharing a room with two adults. Includes round-trip airfare from Seattle.
