Valentine’s Day treats for zoo animals

What:
Woodland Park Zoo’s animals will receive Valentine’s Day treats, but not the traditional chocolates, diamonds or greeting cards…Instead, otters, monkeys, gorillas, big cats, and more will enjoy heart-shaped ice pops made of fruit juice, honey, strawberries and cranberries or candy boxes stuffed with raisins.

The special treats are among the variety of activities the zoo offers its animals to encourage natural behavior such as exploration and foraging.

When:
Saturday, February 14, 2004
Treats will be offered at different exhibits beginning 10:00 a.m. Locations and times will be posted at zoo gates. Visit the zoo's Web site for a complete schedule.
