What:
The Dairy Farmers of Washington salutes “Healthy Moms, Healthy Kids” with a special family day at Woodland Park Zoo — the third annual Moo at the Zoo. Be among the first visitors and receive a free got milk? bag of goodies while supplies last. Plus, enjoy free samples of the new DairyGo flavored milk (single serves), meet a Dairy Princess, and participate in fun contests and activities! In addition, you can enter-to-win a 5-night vacation for two adults and two kids at the Castle Waikiki Terrace Hotel in Hawaii, courtesy of Pleasant Holidays.

Meanwhile, check out the zoo’s newly remodeled Family Farm with many playful features added. Try your hand at milking a life-sized cow. Climb aboard a circa 1941 tractor. Wiggle your way through a Worm Crawl. Watch a video that shows chicks hatching and growing up before your eyes. Discover the scoop on composting and much, much more! Last but not least, look for exciting changes in the Discovery Barn. We’re fixing it up, making it roomier and creating exciting ways for families to connect to nature and life on the farm through hands-on interactives and some terrific new programs! We also installed a new solar array to generate power.

When:
Friday, August 1, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where:
All Moo at the Zoo activities to take place at Woodland Park Zoo's Family Farm near the zoo's South Gate at N. 50th St. and Fremont Ave. N.

Sponsor:
“Moo at the Zoo” day is presented by the Dairy Farmers of Washington as part of their new campaign to promote “Healthy Moms, Healthy Kids.” This program was developed based on current health statistics that indicate the value of dairy products as part of a healthy diet as well as the importance of modeling good habits for children. The goal of the program is to educate mothers on ways that they can improve their families’ overall health by modeling healthy eating and active lifestyle choices.
