What:
Woodland Park Zoo is currently recruiting zoo ambassadors - enthusiastic,
energetic and dedicated individuals who enjoy working with people, like
to learn about the natural world, and are committed to the cause of wildlife
conservation. Volunteer zoo ambassadors greet zoo visitors, provide
suggestions for a meaningful and fun zoo visit, and help out at special
zoo events.
After serving
as a zoo ambassador for a minimum of three months, volunteers have
the option of training for the docent program. Zoo docents, or volunteer
educators, teach people of all ages about wildlife and habitat. Activities
may include leading tours for schoolchildren, presenting animal programs
to the public and staffing hands-on learning displays.
