What:
On Wednesday, December 31, 2003, Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation, acting as the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) lead agency, is issuing the Final Revised Environmental Impact Statement (FREIS) on a proposed long-range plan for Woodland Park Zoo, referred to as the Long-Range Physical Development Plan 2002 (LRPDP 2002). LRPDP 2002 would amend the original 1976 Long-Range Plan for the zoo, last amended in 1987. The FREIS consists of two volumes: Volume 1: EIS Summary and Text and Volume 2: Appendices, Including Comments and Responses. The responses are to agency and public comments received on the Draft Revised EIS, issued July 16, 2003.

How:
Copies of the Final Revised EIS and Draft LRPDP 2002 may be reviewed or purchased beginning December 31 at the zoo administrative office at Building No. 1, 601 N. 59th Street, Seattle, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The cost for copies purchased at the zoo administrative office is $24.00 for Volume 1 of the Final Revised EIS, $14.00 for Volume 2, and $15.00 for Draft LRPDP 2002. Copies may also be ordered by calling 206.615.1030. An additional $5.00 per order will be charged for handling and mailing phone orders.

In addition, the Fact Sheet, Table of Contents, and Summary of the Final Revised EIS, as well as an overview of LRPDP 2002 prepared by the zoo, are available for review beginning December 31 on the zoo’s Web site.
