What:
Don't
miss Woodland Park Zoo's first annual Pumpkin Prowl! The ghostly glow
of over a thousand carved pumpkins will light your way as you explore
the zoo's Family Farm and South Gate Plaza. Spooktacular highlights include
themed pumpkin displays, "Sweet Stations" with treats for your
little goblins, special effects, spooky tree and more. Entertainment includes
fire performers Ignis Devoco and Clay Martins Puppet Theatre. Also,
your little trick-or-treaters are encouraged to wear costumes.
All animal
exhibits will be closed with the exception of Bug World.
When:
Pumpkin Prowl takes place over three howling nights: Friday-Sunday, October
25, 26, 27 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Gates close at 9:30 p.m. Event ends
at 10:00 p.m.
Where:
Woodland Park Zoos South Gate Plaza and Family Farm at N. 50th St.
& Fremont Ave. N.
Cost:
$5
per person; free for children under 2. Beginning October 1, advance tickets
available at Borders stores in Redmond, Bellevue, Seattle and Tukwila
with a $1 service fee per ticket. Tickets also available at www.ticketweb.com
with a $1 service fee per ticket and $1 fee per order. A limited number
of tickets available at Woodland Park Zoos South Gate with no service
fee.
Other:
Parking is available at any zoo lot and at lower Woodland Park. Shuttles
will transport visitors from the zoos North Gate and West Gate lots,
and from lower Woodland Park to the South Gate. Note: Strollers are not
permitted on pathways for the safety and enjoyment of zoo visitors. Please
do not bring flashlights, your own carved pumpkins, balls, balloons, Frisbees,
toy guns or other toy weapons. Snacks and hot beverages will be available
for sale.
