SEATTLE - The Woodland Park Zoological Society is proud to announce the Executive Committee for the 26th annual Jungle Party, the zoo's premier fundraiser! This year's Chair is Brad Davis, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations for Washington Mutual. "At this year's Jungle Party we are focusing on 'Experiences that Money Can't Buy.' This will be one of the most spectacular in a long line of extraordinary Jungle Parties," said Davis.

This year's Procurement Chair is Mike Doherty, President of Cole & Weber/Red Cell. Sponsorship Chair is Gary Giglio, Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. The Party Co-Chairs are: award-winning florists Martha Harris and Bruce Chester from Martha E. Harris Flowers and Gifts, and Diane Shrewsbury, a civic volunteer. Tamara Wilson of Tamara Wilson PR is handling Public Relations and Audience Development. The rest of the Audience Development Team consists of Linda Walker, civic volunteer; Barbara Baer, Director of Sales for Dean & DeLuca; Beverly Magee, Director of Sales at the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel; Leasa Mayer, President of CRG - Total Event Solutions; Lander Chin, of Ben Bridge Jewelers; and Julie Weibe, civic volunteer. Jan Creighton, a civic volunteer, rounds out the Audience Development team and is also on the Procurement team. Heather Staples, Co-owner of the hip, new Belltown restaurant, Zoë, is the Fund-An-Item Chair. Long-time Jungle Party volunteer, Marc Sherman, is in charge of Volunteer Operations, and this year's Jungle Party Advisors are Janet True and Carol Hosford — both civic volunteers.

Nearly 1,000 of the Northwest’s civic and philanthropic leaders attend Jungle Party each summer. The 2002 Jungle Party is celebrating “Sentido da Vida - The Feel of Life!” on the zoo's North Meadow on Friday, July 12. Event highlights are live and silent auctions, live entertainment, a sit-down dinner and exclusive exhibit tours. Last year’s event fundraiser grossed a record-breaking $1.1 million for Woodland Park Zoo, including $177,000 for the zoo’s new teen program, Zoo Corps.

Jungle Party funds help Woodland Park Zoo grow and continue to thrive as one of the region’s long-standing treasures and attractions as it enters its second hundred years. On behalf of the Jungle Party Executive Committee and Woodland Park Zoo, thank you to the community for your tremendous support of this event. If you would like more information on how to become involved with the 2002 Jungle Party, please contact the auction office at jungle.party@zoo.org.
