SEATTLE - Washington Mutual ZooTunes opens its 18th summer concert series at Woodland Park Zoo and still offers the best concert bargain in the Pacific Northwest! July
18 An evening with Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, no opening
act ($14) The popular concerts are held outdoors in the zoos North Meadow with festival seating. Concert-goers are welcome to bring blankets, low-backed patio chairs and picnic baskets. The zoo also sells food and non-alcoholic beverages. Law prohibits alcoholic beverages on zoo grounds. Washington Mutual ZooTunes benefits the zoos various conservation projects and general funds. Concerts are held Wednesdays, July 18 to August 29. Zoo gates open 5:30 p.m. Opening acts begin 6:00 p.m. followed by headliners at 7:00 p.m. Performances end shortly after sundown. Concerts are held rain or shine. There are no ticket refunds. Woodland Park Zoo, 5500 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle. The North Meadow is near the North Gate off N. 59th St. & Phinney Ave. N. Other entries are through the South Gate at N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave. N. and the West Gate at N. 55th St. & Phinney Ave. N. Call Metro at 206.553.3000 for bus service to the zoo. Parking is free, but limited. Free parking is also available at lower Woodland Park.. Kids 12 and under are free with adult. Tickets go on sale beginning June 2 at all PCC Natural Markets: Fremont, Greenlake, Kirkland, Seward Park, View Ridge, West Seattle and Issaquah (with a $2 service fee added). A limited number of tickets are available at Woodland Park Zoo gates, but tickets sell out fast, so purchase early! If available, day-of-show tickets are sold at Woodland Park Zoo only.
