ROSE PRUNING DEMONSTRATION

WHAT: Interested in a bloomin’ good time? Join the Seattle Rose Society and Woodland Park Rose Garden staff for a rose pruning demonstration. You’ll learn proper pruning techniques and have the opportunity to ask questions about rose care in general.

Woodland Park’s Rose Garden is an All-America Rose Selections test garden. During their peak at the beginning of July almost 5,000 roses can be seen. In 1996, it won the All-America Rose Selections award for outstanding maintenance and, in 1995, it was voted the most outstanding rose garden in the U.S.

WHEN: Sunday, February 28, noon to 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Woodland Park Rose Garden near Woodland Park Zoo’s South Gate parking lot at N. 50th St. and Fremont Ave. N.

COST: Free. Parking is $3.50 in the zoo’s parking lot.
