Woodland
Park Zoos "Bug" World rolls out eight new arthropod
species: dung beetles, Chinese mantises, horse lubber grasshoppers,
African giant millipedes, giant desert hairy scorpions, velvet
ants, pink-winged walkingsticks and flamboyant flower beetles.

entomologist Erin Sullivan on Thursday, October 29, 1:00
p.m.
The
zoos new arthropods will make their public debut
at the zoos second annual Bug-A-Boo,
a children-oriented bug fair, on Saturday, October 31, 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
"Bug"
World opened to the public last Halloween. From the temperate
forest and desert, to the savanna and tropics, the popular exhibit
unleashes the world of 22 species of arthropods - earths
smallest animals!

Woodland Park Zoos "Bug" World, just north
of the Family Farm. Enter through the zoos South Gate
at N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave. N.

Bug-A-Boo activities will include: a nature walk; a bug
band by the zoos Bug Club; zoo programs Bug Moments and
Costume Capers; a Mason Bee Talk; a workshop on attracting butterflies
to your own garden; arts and crafts; and displays and activities
by Scarabs, University of Washingtons entomology club;
Burke Museum; Normandy Park Honey Company; Woodland Park Zoos
Bug Club; Temperate Rainforest Research Project; Entomo-Logic;
and Insect Safari.
Bug-A-Boo
is free with regular zoo admission: Adult (18-64) $8.50; Senior
(65+) $7.75; Youth (6-17) and Disabled $6.00; Preschool (3-5)
