SEATTLE - As part of the 1998-99 budget process, the Seattle City Council has approved a $.50 admission fee increase for Woodland Park Zoo, effective August 14. King County residents receive a $.50 to $1.00 discount. The new fees for King County are: Adult (18-64) $7.50; Senior (65+) $6.75; Youth (6-17) and Disabled $5.25; Preschool (3-5) $3.25; Toddler (0-2) Free. Non-King County fees are: Adult (18-64) $8.50; Senior (65+) $7.75; Youth (6-17) and Disabled $6.00; Preschool (3-5) $3.75; Toddler (0-2) Free. Parking remains at $3.50. Zoo membership: Wolf One (Individual) $35; Wolf Pack (Family/Couple) $50; Individual AquaZoo $60; Family AquaZoo $85. The zoo will continue to allocate 40,000 complimentary admission passes to social service agencies annually. Additionally, the public can obtain admission discount coupons. Current discount coupons include one free childs admission with one paid adult admission available on a ZooTunes concert ticket stub or on an Azteca Mexican Restaurant placemat, valid August 31 to October 31. The zoo opens at 9:30 a.m. 365 days a year. It closes at 6:00 p.m. March 15 through October 14; and at 4:00 p.m. October 15 through March 14.
