WHO:
Karla.gif (27744 bytes) July 15 Karla Bonoff * One of the all-time favorite singer-songwriters to ever perform at the zoo, Karla Bonoff has received acclaim for her performances as well as her extensive songwriting career. Songs like the Grammy award-winning "All My Life," performed by Linda Rondstat and Aaron Neville, have earned her a well-deserved following of new and old admirers of her music. Tickets: $8.
Keb.gif (36544 bytes) July 22 Keb’ Mo’ * The blues artist makes his second consecutive appearance at the zoo. With his mixture of 12 bar blues and down-to-earth ability to tell a story in his songs, Keb’ Mo’ has earned his recognition as one of the top contemporary blues men in the country. His single "Just Like You" has been airing recently on VH1, and features his friends Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne on vocals. Those who have experienced Keb’ live attest that he brings much more to the performance than his music. He brings himself and enjoys the experience with the audience. Tickets: $10.
Mcdonald.gif (33594 bytes) July 29 Michael McDonald * As a former member of the Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald has repeatedly shaped the music scene with his rich bluesy vocals. McDonald went on to repeatedly unveil hits such as "I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)," "Ya Mo B There" with James Ingram and "On My Own" with Patti LaBelle. Tickets: $10.

Marc Cohn Replaces Christopher Cross At ZooTunes

August 5 Marc Cohn * Singer-songwriter Marc Cohn hit the scene in 1991 with his successful hit, "Walking in Memphis on his debut album, "Marc Cohn." Featuring arrangement help from guitarist John Leventhal and a guest appearance by James Taylor on "Perfect Love," this album won the hearts of the musical community and earned him a Grammy Award for "Best New Artist" following its release. Cohn heads are sure to enjoy his premiere appearance at the zoo this year. Tickets: $10.
Wilcox.gif (27501 bytes) August 12 David Wilcox * By combining the honesty of folk music with a rock/pop sound, David Wilcox has created a sound that reflects the themes he chooses to write on, including loneliness, unrequited love, marriage and the birth of a new child. Wilcox frequently draws comparisons to James Taylor, but with a softer and warmer voice. Tickets: $8.
Ritenaur.gif (33505 bytes) August 19 Lee Ritenour * Jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour has spent his career experiencing and expanding music in all realms. His recordings include work with artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to Quincy Jones to Herbie Hancock. His 25 previous solo recordings have brought numerous gold albums, a dozen Grammy nominations, and continual acclaim from listeners and critics. Ritenour also is known for being a former member of Fourplay, whose debut album in 1991 spent 33 weeks in the #1 position on Billboards contemporary jazz chart.
Nakai.gif (33235 bytes) R. Carlos Nakai Quartet * This southwest phenomena blends a fusion of jazz, folk, reggae, Native American, Latin salsa and American styles. Grammy award-winning flutist R. Carlos Nakai, percussionist Will Clipman, keyboardist/saxophonist Amo Chip and guitarist/bassist J. David Muniz have created a musical sound that encompasses a wealth of stylistic impressions. The quartet is one of the best musical collaborations of players from different backgrounds who incorporate diverse influences into extraordinary music. Tickets: $10.
Art.gif (27467 bytes) August 26 Art Garfunkel * As part of one of the most influential musical duos ever, Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on music and audiences worldwide.
