October 1                     Winter Hours: 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. daily through April 30

 

October 19                   “Green” Wine Tasting in Zoomazium, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Come taste “green” wine and beer while exploring the zoo’s Zoomazium nature play space. Sample hors d'oeuvres from Rain Forest Catering that complement each wine and beer.  Explore the facility with other adults and have a close encounter with an animal. Cost: $30 per person plus tax and service charge. Must be 21 years old with valid ID. Reservations required. Free parking. Must enter through the West Entrance at N. 55th St. & Phinney Ave N. October 26,27,28         Pumpkin Prowl presented by Bartell Drugs, 5:00-8:00 p.m.

                                    Bring the family to Woodland Park Zoo’s newly expanded Pumpkin Prowl presented by Bartell Drugs. There will be treats for your little goblins, carved pumpkins, live entertainment and Zoomazium transformed into Boomazium! Zoo memberships do not apply æ all visitors must purchase tickets. Tickets are on sale at all Bartell Drugs locations and at the zoo. Prices are: $9 adults; $7 children 17 and under; and free for children 2 and under. October ,27,28             Pumpkin Bash, 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

                                    Pumpkins abound at Woodland Park Zoo. Enjoy a repertoire of animal behavior as hippos, bears, elephants, monkeys, and other animals crunch, smash or stomp on pumpkins at the zoo’s Pumpkin Bash! The pumpkins are a part of the zookeepers’ ongoing efforts to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals, promote natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally and physically stimulated and provide added enjoyment for zoo visitors. November 22               Thanksgiving Buffet

First seating: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (arrive by 11:30 a.m.)

Second seating: 1:00-3:00 p.m. (arrive by 2:00 p.m.)

Third seating: 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (arrive by 4:30 p.m.)

Feast among the beasts with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at the zoo’s Rain Forest Food Pavilion! Tear into a feast of carved turkey and ham with all the traditional fixins’ and a dessert buffet. There will also be a cash bar. Also, enjoy an up-close visit with a raptor! Cost for members: $21.95 for adults; $12.95 for children ages 3-10; free for children ages 2 and under.  Cost for non-members: $27.25 for adults; $16.75 for children ages 3-10; free for children ages 2 and under. December 8, 15                       Holiday Breakfast, 9:30-11:00 a.m./Santa Photos

The zoo’s Rain Forest Food Pavilion offers a delightful buffet breakfast and a mini-performance of The Nutcracker. Buffet features an omelet station, scrambled eggs, potatoes, crepes, bacon and sausage, Danishes, mini-muffins, fresh fruit and beverages. PLUS: don’t miss a visit from Santa! Cost for members: $21.95 for adults; $12.95 for children ages 3-10; free for children ages 2 and under. December 19-21, 26-29 Winter Celebration, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Some animals hibernate during the winter, but you don’t have to. During the winter school break, take a wildlife trek at Woodland Park Zoo’s Winter Celebration where you’ll enjoy a repertoire of animal behavior as selected animals receive holiday-themed treats such as wreaths with assorted fruit, evergreen trees with ornamental fruit, and boughs and wrapped boxes.  Winter Celebration is part of the zoo’s ongoing enrichment program to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals, promote natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally stimulated and provide added enjoyment for visitors.

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily October 1 through April 30, and 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily May 1 through September 30. The zoo is open every day except December 25.

 

Admission: October 1-April 30: Adult (13-64) $10.50; Child (3-12) $7.50. May 1-September 30: Adult (13-64) $15; Child (3-12) $10. Free for children 2 and under year round. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount and zoo members receive free zoo admission year round.

 

Parking: $4.00. Parking is limited. Please call Metro at 206.553.3000 for bus service to the zoo.

 

Gifts/Food: Visit the ZooStore for extraordinary gifts and zoo souvenirs and the Rain Forest Food Pavilion to quench your thirst or appetite. Open daily during regular zoo hours.
