A Bright Future is Built on a Strong Foundation
When you give to Woodland Park Zoo’s endowment, you are preserving one of our community's most important family institutions for generations to come. Endowment gifts help ensure a healthy, long-term financial future for the zoo while honoring your specific philanthropic interests and passions.
Endowments are permanent funds that are invested to yield a steady, reliable source of income. They generate earnings on their balance, which can be used to support general operating as well as specific areas of the zoo. At the same time, a portion of the earnings is returned to the endowment principal to ensure that it will continue to grow, thus ensuring support for the zoo in perpetuity. Our goal is to raise our endowment by $10 million.

Long-term resources enable the zoo’s leaders and expert staff to pursue innovations and programs that maintain the highest standards of professional excellence for which we are recognized nationally, including best-in-class animal care and health, nature-inspired science learning, and successful conservation strategies with partners around the world.
