Happy 5th birthday, Zoomazium! Celebrate five years of child’s play at Woodland Park Zoo with special weekend of birthday activities

WHAT:

Woodland Park Zoo’s indoor, nature play space, Zoomazium, turns 5 this year and you’re invited to the big birthday bash!

 Head to Woodland Park Zoo on Sat., Nov. 5 and Sun., Nov. 6 for a weekend of special 5th birthday activities including:

  • Birthday enrichment treats for the zoo’s notable 5-year-old residents—from penguins to snow leopards!
  • Cupcakes for Zoomazium guests (while supplies last)
  • Live music by The Toucans and Sunshine Music Together at Zoomazium
  • Puppet shows, birthday-themed activities and more at Zoomazium

Sat., Nov. 5 – Sun., Nov. 6, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

WHERE:

Head to Woodland Park Zoo’s Zoomazium located across from the Rain Forest Food Pavilion, near the zoo’s West Entrance (Phinney Ave. N. between N. 55th and N. 56th streets).

COST:

Activities are free with zoo admission. Zoo admission: Adult (13–64) $11.50; Child (3–12) $8.50; Toddler (0–2) free. Active and retired U.S. military and their families, seniors and people with physical disabilities receive an admission discount. Zoo members receive free zoo admission year round.

Parking: $5.25. Parking is limited. Consider taking the bus, biking, walking or carpooling. For bus service to the zoo, visit: www.metro.kingcounty.gov.

Zoomazium is an indoor, all-weather facility that incorporates spectacular multimedia features with fun, interactive nature-themed areas devoted to play and learning targeted for children birth to 8 years of age. All the exhibits within Zoomazium have been designed for whole-bodied, imaginative play, as well as integration with existing zoo programs. With its green living roof and sustainable features, Zoomazium was the first zoo project in North America to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Building certification system.

Zoo fall/winter hours: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.
