See what goes on behind the scenes at Woodland Park Zoo with a new, 90-minute guided tour. Start your tour at the zoo’s award-winning Humboldt penguin exhibit then travel to the rain forests of South America and Africa with a tour through the zoo’s award-winning Tropical Rain Forest exhibit featuring red ruffed lemurs, jaguars, ocelots, poison dart frogs, golden lion tamarins and more. Take in the sights, sounds, and scents of the tropics and be on the lookout for the many exotic plants that also play an important role in the exhibits. With your guide, take a peek behind the scenes at the prep kitchen where daily meals for a variety of rain forest residents are prepared.

Top off your tour with an opportunity to take part in feeding the zoo’s Humboldt penguins! In addition to the tour fee, tickets for penguin feeding may be purchased at the West Entrance ticket booth ($5 per person) or at the feeding station at the exhibit (cash only, please). Penguin feeding is available daily, November 1 – April 1, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or until fish supply is depleted. Feeding is subject to cancellation due to weather or penguins’ appetites.
